“Oh, one more thing”

I left my therapist’s office last week feeling a little raw and vulnerable but also somehow confident that we were going to tackle something big next week that was going to really help me.  That something was a snippet I chose to bring up in an “oh, one more thing” type fashion when there were about 4 minutes left in my session. The Exquisite Horror of Mother’s Day

I’m not generally a fan of holidays. I was born into a secular half-Jewish/half-Catholic family, and grew up to be an atheist. Holidays for me are about seeing family and eating food- oh! and days off of work, which I enjoy doing throughout the year. I don’t need the acknowledgement of an event that occurred thousands of years ago to motivate me.
