Sixty-One

It was sixty-one years ago today that my mother was born the eldest daughter of my grandparents. It was about eighteen months ago today, that my grandmother passed away and subsequently, my mother decided she no longer wanted to have a relationship with me, her eldest daughter. (It is important to note that she would not claim ownership of that decision.) After a nearly thirty year long tumultuous and tense relationship, I can’t say that my mother’s refusal to communicate with me was terribly disappointing. I’m featured in a book!

Really, it’s true. Actually, lots of cool stuff around books is happening around these parts the last few weeks. I’m editing a cookbook that’s all about the nutritional value in different colored foods. I’m starting a book project with a local photographer. And, I’m featured in a book.  The lovely ladies of Propelle have authored their first e-book on entrepreneurship called Seven Secrets to Soaring, and it features relevant stories of some super inspiring women.
