For Fun

Apparently, I’m going to make it a trend to steal my friends’ list ideas. First it was the birthday list I took from Ryan, and now it’s this “just for fun” list from Britt. I’d like to say that all 25 posts I promised to write before turning 33 will not be stolen from friends, but I just don’t feel confident making that commitment right now 😉 (X) Shot a gun. I’ve shot a 12 gauge shotgun at flying discs of clay. My brother-in-law and dad like to shoot sporting clays as a recreational activity, and when I visit, it’s […]

Home

Home is an interesting topic and one that has caused me to think quite a bit over the last day or so, so much so that I missed actually posting about it yesterday. I struggle to define what home means to me. At one point in my life, going home meant going to visit my parents in the house I grew up in in LA. Play

It’s impossible for me to think about the concept of play without thinking of these little love bugs of ours. As a Boston and Boston mix, they both have lots of energy which comes out when they rough house and playfully annoy the crap out of each other. There were […]

Close Up

Remember those sweet loving pups I shared photos of yesterday? They are cuddle muffins and kiss mongers most of the time, but sometimes… they are killers. Together they make short work of any stuffed creature that comes into their grasp.  When I warned the family that watches them while we are away that they should hide any toys that their dog particularly loves, the mom said, “oh no way, we love it when Porter and Jeanie come over to weed out the weak ones in the herd.”  They always live up to expectations. Recently, friends visited and brought these lanky […]

Love

Today was a long and wonderful day celebrating Nathan’s nephew Ian’s dedication and his father’s 65th birthday.  I was good with respect to my food sensitivities and therefore my body and did not partake in the delicious beer featured atop this post.  In exchange for that goodness, however, I ate a piece of cake, which is arguably worse with it’s perfect storm of gluten, dairy AND sugar.  I got an almost instant headache and my stomach let me know it was not pleased. I had high hopes for how I might muse upon the word love today, as it is […]
